The Council Bluffs Water Works offers group tours and presentations to all those interested in learning about the water purification process. Come to the Narrows Purification Plant located on North 25th Street. A Water Works professional will be your tour guide through each of the fascinating steps that are used to purify your drinking water. Your tour will begin at the Missouri River where you will follow the water as it moves from the intake structure through the numerous treatment processes including coagulation, flocculation, lime softening, clarification and filtration. Learn about the multiple barrier concept that ensures that your water is safe.
You will see our control room including a state-of-the-art Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) that monitors the entire system and laboratory where we analyze the water to ensure our customers are provided safe, clean, high quality drinking water.
It is best to see the water plant in person, however, if your group is not able to visit us, we will bring the Council Bluffs Water Works to you by way of a virtual tour power point presentation and other visual aids that will bring to life our operation.
To arrange for a tour or presentation please contact Tim Parker at 712-328-1006 extension 1020 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
